Interested in running for B.U Council Representative?
The BU Council is made up of 10 unpaid members, nine are appointed by the governor of New
York, and the 10th, a student, is elected by his or her peers.

Send a letter of intent with your name, any undergraduate or graduate student intending to run
for a position must submit a Letter of Intent to the Elections Committee no later than April 26,
2013. Letters of Intent must be sent to Elections@binghamtonsa.org.

Judicial Board Applications

The Judicial Board (J-Board) composes the Judicial Branch of the Student Association. With the new constitution, Judicial Board has greatly expanded powers and authorities. In addition to hearing all grievances, the J-Board will meet regularly to review legislation passed by the Student Assembly (renamed the Student Congress). The Board has the power to reject Congress legislation on constitutional grounds, and will act as a powerful partner in the SA’s government.

Binghamton Class Council Applications

Applications are now available for Executive Board positions on the new Binghamton Class Council. The four current class councils have been combined into a single organization, providing programming and fundraisers for all classes.

If you are interested in an E-Board position, please fill out the application by April 12, and submit it to president@binghamtonsa.org or in person to the SA Office Receptionist.

Student Association Executive Board Elections – TODAY

SA E-Board Elections are TODAY! Check your b-mail inbox for your ballot. If you can’t find a ballot (check your spam filter) then you can vote in person at the SA Office.

The candidates for President are Rahul Aitch and Eric Larson

-The candidates for Executive Vice President (EVP) are Samson Widerman and Jacob Dorfman

-The candidate for Vice President for Finance (VPF) is Ravi Prakriya

-The candidates for Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) are Derrick Conyers and Stephan Fathalla

-The candidates for Vice President for Programming (VPP) are Mark Ochweri, Serge Joseph, and Mariana Moriello

-The candidates for Vice President for Multicultural Affairs (VPMA) are Isis McIntosh and Benjamin Sheridan

-Three questions will appear on the ballot regarding the proposed SA Constitution, a change to the title of the VPMA, and an activity fee proposal.

Student Assembly Passes Constitution: Will be on ballot March 20th

The proposed amendments to the SA Constitution have been passed by the Student Assembly. Voting will take place March 20th.

Letters of Intent Are Now Open!

Any undergraduate student intending to run for a position on the Student Association Executive Board must submit a Letter of Intent to the Elections Committee no later than March 7, 2013. Letters of Intent must be sent to Elections@binghamtonsa.org.

Any undergraduate student seeking to submit a ballot referendum to be voted on during the Executive Board Election must also contact the Elections Committee no later than March 7, 2013.

SUNY SA Conference

President Mark Soriano, VP for Finance Eric Larson, and VP for Academic Affairs Aaron Ricks will be attending the annual SUNY SA Conference from November 2-4. This conference is a meeting of student leaders from all SUNY Student Association groups, and features the convening of the SUNY Student Assembly.

There will be an update on the conference at the Assembly meeting at 7:30pm on Monday, November 11.
